Georgia’s runoff elections for two U.S. Senate seats happened Tuesday night, and teams from all four campaigns waited nervously for results to trickle in.

Reverend Raphael Warnock beat Sen. Kelly Loeffler and became the first black senator in his state’s history.

The other race, between incumbent Republican Sen. David Perdue against Democrat challenger Jon Ossoff, is still too close to call, but Ossoff currently has a lead over his opponent.

If Ossoff wins, the balance of power will shift from the Republicans to the Democrats.

Due to the pandemic, this election night looked a little different than most. Still, some folks gathered to take in the election night results, hoping their party would come out on top.
