Texas Renaissance Festival begins Friday

Festival runs Sept. 30 to Nov. 26

HOUSTON – People can soon take a trip back in time with the Texas Renaissance Festival.

It is the nation's largest renaissance-themed parks.

Each year, for nine fun-filled weekends, from Sept. 30 to Nov. 26, more than 500,000 guest pass through the festival's gates.

The Texas Renaissance Festival will be filled with an enchanted world full of kings, queens, lords and ladies, knights, nobles, fairies, elves, pirates and barbarians. Guests will be entertained by unique performers, such as musicians, magicians, acrobats, jugglers and dancers with more than 200 daily performances on more than 20 stages throughout the New Market Village. 

There will also be more than 400 Shoppes featuring work from artists, artisans and merchants, as well as live demonstrations by craftspeople skilled in the art of glass blowing. 

The New Market Village in an authentically recreated 55-acre 16th century English township, located 50 miles northwest of Houston.

Adult tickets at the gate are $30. Tickets for children are $15.
