Found my old journal last night. Decided to start writing in it again. And it feels really good. One thing I put in there was what my therapist told me a few days ago. I told her I was feeling anxious about things opening back up. I have so many mixed feelings. Good for economy but then scary and unknown. I see friends or people going back to normal and I started to have anxiety about doing the same. Then she said something to me that really spoke to me. She said, “just because the world is opening back up, doesn’t mean you have to. You can open back up when you’re ready”. It instantly made me feel better. Crazy part is I’m craving travel (which I thought I would never say), and nail salons (which I have never liked), or going to restaurants (which we never really did)…but I still feel uneasy about it so bottom line is, I’m still closed. Because all my shows were cancelled and i’m uncertain of work, I have no real reason to go out anyways (and truthfully I want to be totally quarantined still so I can see my grandparents over the 4th and give them a hug). Bottom line is, it’s okay wherever you’re at on the reopening phases and it’s okay to have mixed feelings but lets just not judge or make someone feel crazy either way. Cool?
