HOUSTON – Houston is getting into the Halloween spirit as the holiday quickly approaches, and pumpkin patches are a great place to start the fun.

Things to do: Pumpkin patch through October 31 st! Also petting zoo, play fort, rope slide, mini golf, Western play town, gigantic sandbox, horseshoes and more. Extra fee for pony rides, barrel car train rides, paintball, and hay rides.
Price: $6 (18 months and younger free), $5 seniors age 65+ and military, $5 special needs child (including one adult chaperone).

Froberg’s Farm, Alvin
Things to do: Corn maze and fun activities for the kids through November 4. For a different perspective, check out the night maze and lighted hay ride on Friday and Saturday nights in October! Weekend activities include plastic duck races, bean bag toss, planting booth, pony hops, face painting, basketball hoops, flower picking, hayride and indoor pumpkin patch. New this year is corn cannon, friendly fire and bee coaster.
Price: $6 (ages 3 and up), 2 and under free. Wristbands include corn maze only. Extra fee for additional activities.
Hours: 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. seven days a week for the corn maze only; Friday & Saturday evenings in October, they open again from 6 p.m.- 9:30 pm for special activities. Saturday & Sunday, all activities are open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Things to do: Lots of fun activities at this annual fundraiser for Halter Inc., which works with special needs kids through miniature horse therapy — pony rides, trackless train, haunted trail, pumpkin patch and more.
Price: $5 per child (2-16). Adults are free. Parking $5 per car. Activities and pumpkins additional fee.

Oil Ranch, Hockley
Things to do: 50 acres of fun! Scarecrow Festival and Pumpkin Patch. Admission includes all activities: Kid Hopper a 2800 sq. ft. jumping pillow, human hamster races, Charlotte’s Web (a giant web to climb on), hay ride, train ride, pony ride, dairy farm, stockyard maze, animal farm, petting zoo, Indian Village. Free pumpkin for every child with paid admission. Open seven days a week in October. Closed October 20th for a private event.
Price: $15.95 age 3 and up week days, $19.95 weekends

Old MacDonald’s Farm, Humble
Things to do: 15 acres of fun with all activities included in admission: 12 petting zoo barns, train rides, playground, pumpkin patch, hay barn, sand mountain, pony rides, Indian Village.
Price: $12 each + tax, babies under 18 months free.
Hours: Open 10 am daily through November. Closing time varies by season.

Old Time Christmas Tree Farm, Spring
Things to do: Take photos in the pumpkin patch and pick your perfect pumpkin for purchase. Activities include train ride, hay ride, giant slide, obstacle course, bounce house, petting zoo, inflatable corn maze, jump pad — for an additional fee.
Price: $5 admission (ages 2 and up). Tickets for activities run $3 each or 10 tickets for $27.
Hours: Open 4 p.m. – 7 p.m. Fridays, 10 a.m. – 7 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays in October.

P-6 Farms, Montgomery
Things to do: Pumpkin patch, corn maze, tractor-led hay ride, in-ground trampoline, pig races, cow train ride, playground and more. Pumpkins available for purchase about $4 – $7 each depending on size. Don’t miss Field of Screams October 13, 14, 21, and 28, which opens at dark.
Price: $13.95 online, $16.95 at gate (age 3 and up) age 2 and under free. Field of Screams is $11 upgrade at the gate or purchased online for a discount. Apple blasters, Friendly Fire, and food and shopping are an additional price.
Hours: Open weekends, October 6- November 10. In October, Saturdays are from 10 am to 10 pm, Sundays from 12 noon to 6 p.m. In November, Saturdays are 10 am to 7 pm.
