Stores announce Black Friday hours

This year, Black Friday falls on Nov. 23. And once again, many stores are planning to open early in hopes of grabbing some consumer spending on the day known for kicking off the holiday shopping season.

A number of stores have announced what time they will be opening for Black Friday. A few years ago, most stores opened at 6 a.m. Now, some are opening at midnight or even late on Thanksgiving Day.

The following is a list of some stores that have revealed their opening times for this year:

Homework helps shoppers save more

Even with sale ads in hand, coupons can help shoppers save even more. Sites like and promise to filter out the coupons that work so you get even more bang for your shopping buck.

If you still can't decide which store to hit when, let your phone help out. A survey says that a whopping 54 percent of in-store shoppers plan to use a smartphone to compare prices on Black Friday, with slightly less than half saying they expect the practice to help them get a better deal.
