Nation's largest brewers to begin listing calorie counts

The nation’s four largest brewers will begin listing calorie counts on their beer.

Anheuser-Busch InBev, MillerCoors, Heineken and Constellation Brands have announced new guidelines, according to the Beer Institute. The change means that more than eight out of every 10 beers sold in the U.S. will include calories and other nutritional information.

The Beer Institute said the brewers will list calories, carbohydrates, protein, fat and alcohol by volume.

According to a recent Harris Poll, 72 percent of beer drinkers think it’s important to read nutritional labels when they buy food and beverages.
