Hot spots to grab Houston Astros Championship gear

HOUSTON – We looked near and far to find you the hottest locations to grab some swag to represent the Houston Astros - World Series Champions.

Naturally, fans can grab gear within Minute Maid Park at the Astros' shops:

Union Station Team Store, Home Plate Team Store, Custom Shop, New Era Cap Stand, Centerfield Team Store, Right Field Team Store, Astros Authentics, Club Level Store, Suite Level Team Store and Upper Level Team Store.

At the Academy store in Southwest Houston, hundreds lined up outside and around the building in hopes to be some of the first to get new gear.

"We've seen a rush. We've seen lines around the building all night long -- all day long. There's no telling when it will go down," said Shane Carlisle with Academy Sports + Outdoors.

Many people waited one-three hours in line to get their hands on history.

"Had to get the hat, "World Series Champs,"--just like they had on the field last night," Burt Bentley said.

The Academy store was open all night after Game 7. Thursday the Astros section of the store at 2404 Southwest Freeway is open until 11 p.m.

"I couldn't not come -- I was just itching to get out and come and celebrate with the city," said Lizzy Morris.

For families like Elizabeth Belton's, it's about more than just a game. It's about tradition and loyalty.

"We have been following the Astros since I was a baby and it's so exciting to see our home town share in this great world series. From my parents who have now passed who were big Astros fans -- I'm so delighted that we have a win," said Belton.

Many fans said this win has lifted their spirits, especially after Harvey.

"This only happens once every so often and it's so important for this city. It's something that we definitely earned and deserved," said Morris.
