Friday Freebies: Festivities that make fall fun

HOUSTON – Are you a fall fanatic? If you get pumped about pumpkins and scarecrows make you squeal, this is your kind of weekend.

This Friday Freebie report is chockfull of fall festivities that won't cost you anything. 

The Deer Park United Methodist Church Fall Festival is Saturday from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. They'll have games, crafts, pumpkins and flu shots at 1300 13th street. 

Head to the Pick-a-Dilly Craft Fair at St. Peter's United Methodist Church in Katy from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. Admission to browse more than 100 vendors is free, but bring some money if you want to take home jewelry, homemade gifts or food. The church is on Kingsland Boulevard across from Taylor High School. 

Throw on your costumes for Trunk or Treating at the Conroe Church of Christ at 1860 Longmire Road Saturday from 5 to 7 p.m. They'll have a rock wall, a train, bounce houses and prizes for the best costumes.

Stop by Bass Pro Shop in Katy or Pearland Saturday and Sunday for the Great Pumpkin Celebration between noon and 5 p.m. You can get a free Halloween photo with the Peanuts, make a craft and try the pumpkin toss. 

If that is about all the fall you can handle, go get smart at the Energy Day Festival Saturday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. It's Houston's largest free family showcase of science, technology, engineering and math. More than 70 interactive demonstrations and exhibits will be set up at Sam Houston Park downtown on Bagby.
