Freebie Friday: Rodeo fun plus more around Houston

Rodeo or not, there is plenty to do this weekend in Houston.

The rodeo parade rides through downtown Houston tomorrow morning from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. University of Houston coach Major Applewhite is the Grand Marshall this year.

Friday morning, drive by the brand new Frost Bank Garden Oaks Financial Center at 4606 North Shepherd Drive near Crosstimbers this between 7:30 a.m. and 9:30 a.m. for free tacos from Taqueria el Tapatio.

Take the whole family to Smither Park at the Orange Show Saturday on the south side near the University of Houston main campus. You can watch artists in action at this unique Houston venue and stay for the blessing of the park from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. There will be plenty of opportunities for kids to make their own creations. They'll have live music and food.

Drop in Jesse Jones Park in Humble Saturday for Nature Fest from 9 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. You can see live animals, take a pontoon boat tour and a guided nature walk.

Take stroll down Heights' 19th street for the first Saturday Arts Market from 11 a.m. until 6 p.m. The Arts Market is the first Saturday each month. This Saturday, you can also hop over to 20th Street for the Heights Chamber of Commerce free Crawfish Festival.
