HOUSTON - Looking for something to do with the family this weekend that won't break the bank? Here's a list of some free events happening in the Houston area.

Great Pumpkin Celebration

Head over to Bass Pro Shops for the Great Pumpkin Celebration.
From noon until 5 p.m. every Saturday and Sunday until Halloween at the Katy and Pearland locations, kids can get a free Halloween photo with The Peanuts gang, make free crafts and play pumpkin toss. The first 75 kids will also get a free trick or treat bag.

Pumpkin Patch Party

Take the family to the Dunkin' Pumpkin Patch in Pearland. It's open from 9 a.m. until 9 p.m. on weekends. While you're there, check out the painting stations, get a family photo and navigate the hay maze.

You can also buy pumpkins of all sizes. If you bring a canned good to donate to the Houston Food Bank,  you'll get $2 off the purchase of your pumpkin.

Fun For Your Furry Friend

PetSmart is having a free "Who's your Boo" party. There is no purchase necessary. Just bring your dog into any PetSmart location for a costume contest, free treat bags and more from noon until 3 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

Houston Energy Day Festival

On Saturday, check out the Houston Energy Day Festival. It showcases science, technology, engineering and math activities for the entire family. There are nearly 70 interactive demonstrations and exhibits.

The festival runs from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Sam Houston Park on Bagby downtown.
