HOUSTON - Looking for something to do with the family this weekend that won't break the bank? Here's a list of some free events happening in the Houston area.
KBR Kids Day
KBR Kids Day from the Buffalo Bayou Partnership is Saturday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. You'll find a lot of activities for kids like face painting, balloon artists, rock climbing walls and more at Guadalupe Park Plaza at the corner of Jensen and Navigation. Dress your kids in costumes for the Halloween parade.
Enjoy the circus
Historic Market Square Park will transform into a big top for a circus Saturday at 6 p.m. At "A Night at Market Square: Circo de Luna," you can watch contortionists, jugglers and fire breathers. Then check out the curiosities night market with unique items and other pop-up performances.
Head to Discovery Green Sunday at 3 p.m. with the kids for "My First Music Lesson." Children in first through eighth grades can pick up a violin and start their musical journey with this free monthly class.
Only 30 spaces are available, so get there early to reserve yours.
Get carving in Katy on Saturday at Cane Island's Pumpkin Palooza. World-class pumpkin carver Sean Fitzpatrick will have live carving demonstrations. Then you can see his masterfully carved oversized pumpkins on display. While you're there, you can enjoy live music and bounce houses for the kids. The event is from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m.
