Fourth of July freebies start this weekend

HOUSTON – Independence Day is Tuesday, but a lot of cities and businesses are starting early with free celebrations this weekend.
  
The Kemah Boardwalk is wasting no time. Starting Friday through Tuesday, you can see fireworks each night and live music on the boardwalk each evening.

Katy's Freedom Celebration is Saturday. From 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. the city of Katy complex will be filled with family activities. At night, head over to Katy Mills Mall near Typhoon Texas for live music and fireworks between 8 p.m. and 10 p.m.

The Breakfast Klub in downtown Houston on Travis is hosting its Kid's First Saturday event with free face painting, games and music.

Sunday at 6 p.m. head to Fulshear's Freedom Fest. They'll have food trucks, games, a children's area, a parade, fireworks and live music.

Then Monday, League City is lighting up the sky. Go early to League Park at 6 p.m. for bounce houses and food trucks. Stay until 10 p.m. for a fireworks show.

The city of Stafford is holding its annual July 3rd celebration at the Stafford Centre with free carnival rides, hay rides, game booths and live music until 11:30 at night.
