HOUSTON – Before you light your fireworks loot Independence Day, make sure you didn't buy any Black Cat Cone Fountain Fireworks.

Winco Fireworks International of Lone Jack, Mo., is recalling about 14,000 of them. According to the Consumer Product Safety Commission, when they're ignited, the devices can burst and spread sparks and pyrotechnic materials outward instead of upward as intended, posing fire and burn hazards to bystanders.
