As Seen on TV Tuesday: Smart Lens

The cameras built into smart phones take such good quality pictures these days, it's sometimes hard to tell the difference between a smart phone picture and a professional photograph. But there are limitations to camera phones. There are some shots that just can’t be achieved.

Consumer expert Amy Davis tested a product that claims it can help take better photos.

The Smart Lens company said it works with any smart phone. It comes with three lenses that change the look of smart phone camera photos.

The fish eye lens gives a distorted 180 degree angle. The wide eye lens increases the view by two-thirds on the sides of the picture; and the macro lens take extremely close-up shots with great detail.

Davis noticed the fish eye and wide eye pictures look very similar; and you can always see the black edge of the lens casing in the photo. The Smart Lenses can be difficult to position on top of the phone's built in camera lens.

Davis thought the macro lens was the best of the three because it took shots that the regular phone camera cannot capture, like the actual lines of her fingerprint and the smudges on a diamond not visible with the naked eye.
