There are lots of bargains blooming in the month of April. Deal News also warns about the purchases that you'll be foolish to fall for.

It's definitely starting to feel like spring this week, so you may be inspired to get out in the garden or go for a run.

Don't make any purchases for those hobbies just yet. According to Deal News, May is the month for discounts on gardening tools, plants and new running shoes.
   
Here is where you should be looking.

Thrift stores are flooded with donations in the month of April. Folks are spring cleaning and that means bigger selections of furniture, appliances and clothing to browse. Since most people drop off donations on the weekend, Deal News suggests stopping by thrift stores like the Salvation Army early in the week.

After you file your taxes on April 18, check sites like Travelocity for discounts on hotels and vacation packages. If previous years are any indication, you'll find mark downs of up to half off resort stays. If you plan to travel for Memorial Day or July Fourth, book your trip in April. Deal News says airfares, on average, will be $60 more expensive in May and will continue to go up after that.

Shop early for dear old mom. Mother's Day sales start in April. Many end well before the holiday in the first week of May. We're talking discounts on gifts like women's watches, handbags, shoes and clothes.

Wait for May's Memorial Day sales for the best deals on mattresses, new appliances and tools. And if you're looking for a new laptop or gaming console, Deal News says the best buys on those items are usually in June.
