Free Labor Day weekend fun

HOUSTON – A long holiday weekend means no work and no school for many of us; but if you've also got no money...no worries! There is still plenty of free fun to get your whole family out of the house.

You can drop a line at the 33rd Annual Woodlands Kids Kiwanis Fishing Tournament. Stop by Creekwood Park in The Village of Panther Creek Saturday morning. Registration is at 7 a.m. Fishing starts at 8 a.m. There will be free food, drinks and bait for toddlers to 16-year-olds. All you need to bring is a rod & reel and lawn chairs. Every child who participates gets a trophy.

If your littles love dinosaurs, get them to Sugar Land Town Square Saturday night from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. for Jurassic Extreme. Four 7-foot dinosaurs with blinking eyes and an authentic roar will be roaming the square.

Katy is celebrating Indonesia with the free Indonesia Festival Saturday from 10 a.m. until 8 p.m. at La Centerra at Cinco Ranch. You can see performers and arts and crafts from the region.

Get "Back to Football" with a Fanfest in Houston's City Centre Sunday from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Bring the whole family to see Toro, the Houston Texans cheerleaders and live music.
