Yelp is getting diners' names of the waitlist before they even arrive at the restaurant.
The popular app has teamed up with Nowait to allow Yelp users to check restaurant wait times and use the app to book a spot in line at places that don’t take reservations. Yelp announced the partnership in its latest earnings release.
Nowait is another mobile app that has a network of thousands of casual-dining chains, including Chili’s restaurants. Users can get their name on a waitlist and when the table is ready, they get a text message. The new services will be added into the Yelp app sometime in the coming months.
