Dirt Devil recalls 149,000 vacuums over shock hazard

Royal Appliance is recalling over 149,000 Dirt Devil vacuums over a shock hazard.

The company has received 14 reports of a prong on the electric cord plug detaching and remaining in the electrical outlet, which can shock someone trying to remove it. The recall includes three models of the Dirt Devil Total Pet Cyclonic Upright vacuums—model UD70210, UD70210CA and UD70210RM.

The recalled models were manufactured between Feb. 2014 and Sept. 2015 and sold at ABC Warehouse, Boardman Furniture, Fred’s and Walmart stores nationwide. Consumers can contact Dirt Devil for a free replacement vacuum.
