Check out what's going on around town in this week's Freebie Friday

HOUSTON – If you're looking for something to do this weekend, there are tons of family-friendly activities that are being offered free of charge.

While it was a frustrating season opener for Michael Oher and the Baltimore Ravens Thursday night, his real life story will be inspiring fans Friday night in a free showing downtown at Discovery Green. "The Blind Side" will be shown on the big screen Friday night at 8 p.m. at Discovery Green across from the George R. Brown Convention Center.  Houston Texans cheerleaders and Toro are scheduled to be on hand to get the crowd in the mood to watch the football classic.

You can also head to Miller Theater Friday night for the Dominic Walsh Dance Theater: An Evening in Italy performance. The free program celebrates a year in Italian culture in the United States. The performance begins at 8 p.m.

On Saturday, Superman will fly on the screen at Movie Night on the Strand in Galveston. Bring your chairs and blankets and head to Saengerfest Park on the corner of 23rd and the Strand. Showtime is dusk.

This is the weekend Bank of America card holders can get free admission at 150 museums across the country. In Houston, your Bank of America card will get you into The Children's Museum of Houston, The Museum of Fine Arts and the Houston Zoo.

The Montgomery County Sheriff's Department will be providing a free car seat check and finger print records on Saturday from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Click here for more information.

In honor of Grandparents Day, The American Girl store in Memorial City is inviting girls to come in and decorate a handmade card for their grandparents from noon until 2 p.m. on Sunday.
