USO Houston continues its mission to help troops and their families

HOUSTON - The USO is responsible for so many programs helping our veterans, including USO centers at Houston's airports.

The centers at Bush Intercontinental and Hobby airports assist veterans and their families as they travel abroad and back home.

More than 200 wounded troops were greeted with hugs as they traveled through Houston on Friday. The veterans were on their way to a warriors weekend fishing tournament in Victoria with other injured military members.

The USO center at Hobby Airport supplied a place for the veterans to rest and get free refreshments.

"They are doing so much. They have chosen a life of service and this is one thing I can do to give back," she said.

A large crowd greeted them with homemade signs and thanked them for their service. The support brought some to tears.
