What you need to know about East End Street Fest

Celebrate the art, music and culture of Houston's birthplace

HOUSTON – The annual East End Street Fest is back again for its sixth year at its permanent home in East Houston.

In 2013 the festival moved to its new location on Navigation Boulevard between St. Charles Street and Delano, according to the website, and has since become a family-favorite fall event.

The 2018 festival will take place on Saturday and will feature foods, arts and crafts, live music, dance showcases, fitness and martial arts exhibitions and plenty of activities for kids, including mechanical bull rides, a rock wall and a petting zoo.

"We invite you to come and check it out. Come see the art, come have the food, you can dance in the street on Saturday, if you join us for free," said Veronica Chapa, president of the East End District. "We’re not even charging you a ticket. All you gotta do is show up."

Admission to the event is free and the gates will be open from 12 p.m. until 10 p.m.
