Sophia Beausoleil joined KPRC Channel 2 News in February 2017 and is excited to be back home.
She grew up in Katy and is a proud Cinco Ranch High School alum who married her high school sweetheart.
Sophia continued her education in the Midwest and attended the University of Missouri, where she earned her Bachelor's degree in Broadcast Journalism with a minor in Business.
Her career in television began at KOMU 8 News in Columbia, Missouri. While there, she worked as a multimedia journalist and anchor.
Sophia's journey as a reporter continued in the Midwest at WCIA 3 News in Champaign, Illinois. After nearly six years in the Heartland, she made her way back to the Lone Star State in 2012. While at KXAN News in Austin, Sophia covered the West plant explosion, presidential visits and the historic Memorial Day floods in Wimberley.
Sophia made it back to Houston just in time for the Super Bowl and covered the events surrounding the big game at KPRC Channel 2.
When she's not working, Sophia enjoys giving back to her community and volunteering. She is a member of the Junior League.
The Katy native considers herself a fitness warrior and enjoys Camp Gladiator, Cycle Bar, Pure Barre and other workouts to keep her healthy. Sophia also loves to eat healthy, but her weakness is queso, along with wings, and fries.
In her spare time, Sophia hangs out with her parents who are originally from Trinidad and Tobago, her friends and extended family. Her goal is to try out all the restaurants in Houston. She also loves live music.
Sophia is proud to report for the community that raised her, because as they say, it takes a village. She hopes to inspire others to follow their dreams and go for it.
