Help Fluffy Shed Some Pounds

Site Gives Weight Loss, Exercise Tips For Pets

POSTED: Monday, July 11, 2005

Many pet owners do not realize that their pets may be dangerously overweight. A Web site can help you determine if your pooch should lose a few pounds.

PetFit.com is geared toward the owners of more than 30 million cats and dogs that are obese. An extra five pounds on a dog that should weigh 17 pounds is similar to an extra 50 pounds on a person who should weigh 170.

If you are not sure if your pet is overweight, the site has a list of warning signs. For example if you can't feel your pet's ribs, or she waddles when she walks, it may be time to change your pet's food or start an exercise routine.

Pet Fit also has a list of weight loss tips and exercise ideas to help pets live longer, healthier lives.
