HOUSTON – A Flash Flood Watch has been issued until noon Monday for Harris, Brazoria, Galveston, Chambers and Liberty counties.
Meteorologist Britta Merwin said showers and thunderstorms will make for a messy commute, and commuters should be cautious on the slick roads.
Rainfall totals are expected to range between a half-inch to an inch area-wide with a chance for coastal locations to receive up to 2 inches Monday, Merwin said.

Merwin said the potential for flooding is isolated and most likely at the coast, where more than 10 inches of rain fell over the weekend, but most areas won’t see any major flood problems.
Highs will be near 60 degrees Monday, according to Merwin. Temperatures will be in the upper 60s to near 70 degrees Tuesday. Sunshine will give areas in Galveston, Brazoria and Matagorda counties impacted by Saturday's record rainfall time to recover.
Red Cross opens shelter as precaution
The American Red Cross opened a shelter for residents whose homes were flooded due to recent storms.
