HOUSTON – Texas weather couldn't be finer for drivers this Thanksgiving weekend.
Wednesday, one of the biggest travel days of the year, promises sunshine, warmth and dry roadways for you folks hitting the roads. In fact, with the exception of Friday, when we'll be lucky to catch a stray afternoon shower or two, and the whole weekend looks rain-free. Temperatures will be near 80 degrees through Thanksgiving, with temperatures closer to 70 by Saturday and Sunday with the passage of a cold front.

Travel weather across the vast majority of the country looks just as good on Wednesday, with the notable exception of the Pacific Northwest. For those of you flying into San Francisco, Portland or Seattle, travel delays may be an issue. If you're picking up out-of-town guests from those cities, too, you'll want to check flight arrival times. A large, slow-moving storm churning just off the Pacific coast promises lots of rain, especially for Washington and Oregon. Mountain snow will blanket the higher elevations of Idaho and Montana.
