Sunny, cool weather on tap for Houston

Afternoon temperatures creep up slowly over next few days

HOUSTON – The gloomy, gray sky from earlier this week has given way to sunshine on a bright, blue canvas!

Typically, we'd expect above-normal temperatures quickly on the heels of the sun's reemergence, but that won't be the case this week.

High temperatures will struggle to make 60 degrees through Friday. This weekend will only be slightly warmer, with highs in the low to mid 60s under sunny skies.

A persistent north wind is the reason we won't see a quick and significant warm-up over the next few days. The wind is pulling cool air in from northern climes, essentially offsetting the warm-up we'd otherwise see from full sunshine.  This pattern will continue, largely unhindered, well into next week.
