New Year's Eve forecast: Chilly start to 2014

As you make your plans to bring in the new year, plan on a much colder celebration than what you experienced last year.

On New Year's Eve 2012, we had temps in the mid 60s and a half inch of rain. This year it will be much cooler with temps in the mid 40s.

Tuesday's afternoon high temperatures will only climb into the mid 50s, and it will be dry in Houston.

Rain is in the forecast for the first day of 2014 with 20-30 percent chances expected for mostly the afternoon and evening of January 1.

The high temperature on New Years Day is expected to be close to the average for this time of  the season, with highs in the low 60s and lows in the low to mid 40s.

Stay warm and of course be safe!
