HOUSTON - We've got a hot, humid day with a 20% chance of storms from the tropical moisture in the Gulf of Mexico.
Hurricane Ingrid is moving into Mexico causing flooding and deadly mudslides. South Texas will see 1 to 3" of rain.
There has been a lot of talk about higher tides off the coast but the data doesn't support that conclusion. Even off the coast in Galveston tides are only up one foot.
The big danger today will be the dangerous rip currents from southeast Texas to Brownsville. Most of this tropical moisture will miss us in Houston but there is enough to warrant a slim 20% chance of thunderstorms every afternoon through Wednesday.
