HOUSTON - Starting Wednesday, Kroger shoppers can support the tornado relief efforts in Oklahoma by taking part in a coin box fundraiser benefiting the American Red Cross.

Kroger says its customers can visit any store in Texas to make a donation at the register.

Kroger will match every shopper's donation up to $50,000. All of the money collected will benefit the American Red Cross Disaster Relief fund.

Shoppers can also donate by visiting, calling 1-800-RED CROSS or texting the word REDCROSS to 90999 to make a $10 donation. All donations will help provide food, shelter and emotional support to those affected by the disaster.

Last week, Kroger teamed up with the American Red Cross to collect funds for the devastating tornado events in North Texas. Kroger says shoppers and employees helped raise more than $30,000 for recovery efforts in Granbury, Cleburne and other affected areas in less than a week.
