Memorial Day storms drench Houston area

HOUSTON – Heavy storms overnight Sunday into Monday produced 1 to 2 inches of rain.

Watch for wet roads and scattered showers.

A front is stalled over southeast Texas and with the heat of the day, scattered showers and storms are expected.

While planning Memorial Day activities listen for thunder.  It is important to head inside once thunder is rumbling and wait for storms to pass.

Temperatures will be warm today in the mid-80s with high humidity.

Scattered midday storms are expected every day this week.
