Friday's forecast: Windy, partly cloudy day

HOUSTON – Friday will feel much different than your Thursday, as an early-morning cold front scours out the high humidity and murkiness, making way for a brighter, fresher finish to the work week.

Morning temperatures in the 60s will warm to the mid 70s by afternoon. Skies will be partly cloudy and the wind will be brisk, out of the north, at 10 to 20 mph.

The cold front brought pre-dawn severe weather to College Station, Huntsville, Livingston and Cleveland. The severe weather threat area for Friday will migrate well east of Texas as the front continues its track eastward.

Another disturbance will move toward the Houston area beginning Saturday morning, bringing more clouds and higher rain chances as the day progresses.

Expect a 30 percent chance for showers Saturday afternoon.

By Saturday night and Sunday rain chances go up to 70 percent.

Thanks to cloudy skies and rain, temperatures will stay below normal.

Highs on Saturday will be in the 60s. Highs on Sunday will only be near 70 degrees.
