Freezing temperatures kick off today; highs in the mid 30s to low 40s

HOUSTON – Freezing temperatures kick off Saturday, so dress in layers. You will need the layers all today as it will not be warming up much.

Highs will be in the mid 30s to low 40s.

Houston will be hitting about 40 degrees today. North and west will be colder in the mid to upper 30s.

Along the coast highs will be in the low 40s. Galveston's high is expected to be 45 degrees.

There is a slight chance of light rain or drizzle starting along the Southern coast this morning then moving north toward Houston this afternoon.

With another freezing night in store, there is a slight chance of freezing rain for areas well North and West of Houston. Be cautious driving over bridges and overpasses.

The dreary weather continues for several days. Sunday there is a chance of rain with a high of 46 degrees.

Monday will be mostly cloudy with a high of 46 degrees and a 40 percent chance of rain.

Tuesday and Wednesday will be partly cloudy with highs in the mid 40s to low 50s.
