HOUSTON -- Strong storms blew through Houston Friday and brought lower temperatures with them, KPRC Local 2 reported.

The day started out with temperatures in the 80s and it was 66 degrees by 11:15 a.m. The day will end with temperatures dipping into the lower 60s."Overnight lows will be in the mid-50s," KPRC Local 2 Chief Meteorologist Frank Billingsley said.The rain started pounding Houston by mid-morning and was expected to move off the coast by about 8 p.m. One to three inches of rain was expected to fall throughout the day."It's continuing to move offshore. Showers are still with us at 4 p.m., but the heavy stuff has moved away," Billingsley said. "I think we'll continue to see drier air move on in here."Some high water was reported on streets throughout the city, but no flooding was reported.CenterPoint Energy said about 30,000 customers were without power at about 11:30 a.m.Saturday will start out chilly with a low of 56 degrees.
