I-610 ramp to I-10 westbound reopens after tractor-trailer overturns

HOUSTON – A tractor-trailer hauling marble tile overturned Friday morning, blocking a heavily traveled ramp for several hours Friday morning.

The crash happened about 4:20 a.m. on the ramp to westbound Interstate 10, also known as the Katy Freeway, from Interstate 610, also known as the West Loop.

Investigators said the truck was taking the exit ramp when the driver lost control and rolled onto its side. The large marble tiles it was hauling were scattered across the highway.

Police said the ramp will likely be closed through the morning rush. Drivers should expect major delays in the area.

The driver of the semi was not injured in the crash, investigators said.
