KPRC TV2 Internship Program

Post-Newsweek Stations, Houston

The internship program at KPRC/TV 2 is designed to provide students with the opportunity to utilize their knowledge in various fields of communication by receiving hands-on experience. In addition to educational experience, they are able to enhance the overall productivity and efficiency of the television industry.

As a public service, we provide students the opportunity to receive on-the-job training as we preview new talent for future hiring purposes. By offering the program, it is our obligation to make certain that each intern is allowed the opportunity to perform duties that are relative to his/her studies.

All students considered for the internship program have met certain academic standards and possess a sincere desire to make a solid and significant contribution to the operation of the television industry through their participation in our program.

Internships are during the spring, summer and fall semesters. The spring and fall semesters last four months and the summer last two months.

The criteria for selecting new interns are as follows:
  • Students must be a junior or senior in college or enrolled in a graduate program (interns will receive course credit only).
  • Interns are required to work a minimum of 15 to 20 hours per week to receive this credit.

Interested candidates are recommended to send a resume with a cover letter stating the department of interest and the days and hours available for work. Also required is a letter from the Internship Coordinator or Dean of your college/university stating that the credit received for the internship participation will be an essential element for course requirements and the total number of hours desired to meet this requirement.
