UH Cougars rout LSU to win Regional

UH beats LSU 12-2 to advance to Super Regional vs Texas

BATON ROUGE – The UH Cougars were snubbed by the NCAA when Regional host sites were handed out so the Coogs just went to Baton Rouge and called it their house for a few days.

Sunday's win over LSU forced Monday's Championship and again the Cougars answered by claiming an easy 12-2 win over the Tigers.   UH now owns the #2 RPI in the country and have bid to host the Super Regional against Texas.

"We've done all we can do. Our Student-Athletes just deserve the opportunity to host the Super Regional this weekend,"  UH Vice President of Intercollegiate Athletics Mack Rhoades said in an interview with KPRC Local 2 Sports Monday night.

"Now we have to wait on the NCAA's decision and we'll get that at 7am tomorrow (Tuesday) morning," Rhoades said while standing on the field at Alex Box Stadium after UH's win.

The UH bats went to work early against LSU putting up 7 runs in a big third inning. UH Reliever Jared Robinson went 6 1/3 innings to earn the win.

With the win, UH improved to 48-16 on the season.
