Texans fans pregame on eve of big game with Packers

HOUSTON – On the eve of Sunday's showdown at Reliant Stadium, a who's who of the Texans faithful gathered outside the garage of a Southeast Houston home, already rocking their game day gear.

Local 2's Nick Giovanni spoke with everyone from the ultimate man to the famed Battle Red Freaks.

When asked what he's thinking about before the Texans' play the Packers, David Mendez said he is filled with anticipation.

"It's not what's running through my head; it's what's running through my body -- adrenaline. Pure 100 percent adrenaline. We're all ready," Mendez said.

The group of die-hard fans said their Texans pigskin love connects them.

"It's like we've known each other, like we went to school together. It's not like, 'Hey, I'm David. You are?' We know what each other is... because we fan hard," Mendez said.

"For today, this is as good as it gets. Tomorrow, it's a new day -- better, hyped," said The Ultimate Fan.

To brace for that new day, some spent much of Saturday in battle red and preparing for their battle plan for pre-game rituals. Others told Channel 2 they still have work to do.

"Yeah, we're going to have another clean-up again because every day we look at it and think, 'Wow, did we really do that?' We're real fans. We love our Texans," said Tiffany Guerrero.

For those who plan on tailgating, the Platinum Lot opens at 2:30 p.m. All other areas open at 3 p.m.
