HOUSTON -

The two-day freshman orientation program at Strake Jesuit began Thursday with over 270 fresh faces making their way around campus for the first time as official Strake Jesuit students, according to the school.

The school said the program was led by the Crusader Crew, made up of returning students who volunteered to serve as mentors to the newcomers.

Among the highlights of the day was the blindfolded basketball half-court shot challenge. The school said freshman Colton Marks represented his group in the contest and proceeded to make his shot, sending the crowd into a frenzy.

There is no word if the Crusaders head basketball coach Dominic Amorosa has since been in contact with Colton.

The orientation program continued Friday as the new students were joined on campus by returning students who went through Matriculation. Strake Jesuit said the first day of classes is Monday.
