RIO DE JANEIRO – Simone Biles is a household name in the U.S.
“She's showy! She's a performer! She's a dancer!” Tonya Thompson said.
Thompson is a Houstonian who now calls Rio de Janeiro home. She’s excited the rest of the world is now getting to know our hometown athlete.

In fact, Rio Olympic Games spectators from around the world are developing their own love affair with her. Case and point: A sister and brother from France who scored tickets to the U.S. Women’s Gymnastics competition were excited to see her.
“She is so expressive. She is the best,” the sister said.
“Simone Biles. She never fails. It’s so easy for her. She is the best,” the brother said.
All eyes are on Biles as she chases her first gold medal of the Rio de Janeiro Olympics.
“I think she's really exciting. She's the top contender. She has like the highest point brackets of anyone that’s competing, so (it) should be fun,” Andrea Deantonio said.
“She is going to bring the American team to win team gold,” Michael Drennen said.
