Simone Biles featured on Time magazine cover

Rio will be Biles' first Olympic appearance

HOUSTON – Hometown resident and first-time Olympian Simone Biles will be featured on the cover of Time magazine in August, just in time for the Olympics.

Biles, of Spring, is headed to Rio for the 2016 Summer Olympics with Team USA gymnastics. She shined in the Olympic trials in San Jose, California.

The Time article, "Simone Biles Is Taking Her Sport to New Heights," discusses her extraordinary talents as one of the world's best gymnasts.

"She's in a caliber with nobody else in the world, really,'" 2008 Olympic all-around gold medalist Nastia Liukin told Time.

The 19-year-old has won three world championships, winning the gold in team, all-around, balance beam, and floor exercise in 2015. Biles has the most world medals in U.S. history and the most world championships gold medals of any female gymnast.
