With more than a month remaining in the NBA regular season, the Houston Rockets have already clinched a spot in the playoffs.
The team's spot was secured when the Portland Trail Blazers lost against the New Orleans Pelicans Tuesday evening.

If the season ended now, the Rockets would have the third seed in the Western Conference and would face Russell Westbrook and the Oklahoma Thunder.
This is the Rockets' fifth consecutive time appearing in the playoffs.
The team hosts the Los Angeles Lakers Wednesday night at Toyota Center.
