Patriots QB Jimmy Garoppolo out vs. Texans on Thursday Night Football, report says

HOUSTON – New England Patriots quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo will be out with an injury for the Thursday Night Football game against the Texans, according to an NFL.com report.

Garoppolo suffered a right shoulder injury late in the second quarter of the Pats' 31-24 win over Miami. Garoppolo completed 18 of 27 passes for 234 yards and three touchdowns before leaving the game for good about five minutes before halftime.

Jacoby Brissett followed and drove the Pats to a touchdown on his first NFL possession. The undrafted Brissett was 6 of 9 for 92 yards. He is expected to start Thursday night against Houston.

Tom Brady is suspended for his role in the "DeflateGate" controversy and isn't eligible to play until Week 5.

The Texans are 2-0 after Sunday's 19-12 win over the Kansas City Chiefs. Houston occupies first place in the AFC South.
