Von Miller snags SB50 MVP

On a picturesque night in Santa Clara, Von Miller stepped up to cap off an historic two-week run to help lead Denver to a Super Bowl Championship.

Miller had 2 1/2 sacks in the Broncos 24-10 win over Carolina and a total of 5 sacks in two wins over the Patriots in the AFC Championship and Sunday against the Panthers.

"We’ve just been the same group of guys that we’ve been all year long. We haven’t really paid attention to the underdog talk, this talk or that talk,” Miller said after the win.

"We know what type of team we are. We know what type of game we can play. We just focused around that. Enjoy the moment. I enjoyed being around my guys, spending hours and hours with those guys every day this week. We really didn’t pay attention to that stuff. We just played our game.”

Denver head coach Gary Kubiak praised the Super Bowl MVP and Former Aggie.

“He was absolutely tremendous. Our defense was just special, and they have been all year long. (I am) very proud of Von. I’ve known Von for a long time. (He is) a fellow (Texas A&M) Aggie. I know a bunch of Aggies back home (are) very proud of him," said Kubiak.

He’s a hell of a player, but he has become a great pro, great man and a big leader on this football team. So, (I am) just very proud of everybody, but (I am) especially proud of him," added Kubiak.

Miller starred at Texas A&M following a high school career at DeSoto in North Texas and entered the NFL following the 2011 draft when Newton was taken 1st overall followed by Miller.

Sunday night he was quick to give credit to Broncos defensive coordinator Wade Phillips.

“Coach Phillips did an amazing job. He always likes to say that mistakes are on him, but the Super Bowl is on him, too,” said Miller.

"I really appreciate everything he’s done for the whole team, not just the defense.”

Now Miller and the Broncos can celebrate the title with their fans at a parade on Tuesday in Denver.

Now the offseason begins and Houston is on the clock for Super Bowl 51.
