Fan who caught Altuve's ball gets tickets to Game 6 from Astros owner

Houstonian who now lives in San Diego did not originally have tickets to Game 6

LOS ANGELES – The 2017 World Series has been one for the history books so far.

Early on in the series, in Game 2, the Houston Astros rallied back against the Dodgers in L.A. In the 10th inning, Altuve hit a homer, and in the sea of blue, it was an Astros fan who got the ball.

"We were at the right place at the right time. It's something we'll never forget," said Luke Mickelson, who was pictured on TV holding the ball and flexing.

"I look down and it literally just rolled right up into my foot. I stopped. I reached down and grabbed the ball as fast as I could. That's when I held my arms up and flexed," said Michelson who was also with his son, Kep.

He ended up giving the ball back to Altuve at the end of the game. Friends joked that Michelson needed to be at Game 6 because he was a good luck charm during Game 2, which the Astros ended up winning.

Michelson, a Houstonian who now lives in San Diego, did not originally have tickets to Game 6 in Los Angeles. He took his chances, got in the car with his son, Kep, and drove two hours to L.A.

Michelson had reached out to people on Twitter and Facebook, hoping someone had an extra ticket. A friend who works at a car wash in Sugar Land helped him get some tickets.

"All of the regulars who come through there know Kevin, and as luck would have it, Jim Crane (the owner of the Astros) went through Mister Carwash this morning, and Kevin saw him and went over there and shared my story," Michelson said.

His friend showed the Astros owner the photo of Michelson holding Altuve's ball and mentioned that he gave the ball back to an Astros rep. The owner of the Astros left two tickets for the father and son at will call.
