HOUSTON -

The Houston Texans released their 2014 preseason schedule, which features home games against two NFC powerhouses.

Head Coach Bill O'Brien will lead the Texans onto the field for the first time when Houston opens the preseason at Arizona. The Texans then host the Atlanta Falcons at NRG Stadium.

The Texans travel to Denver to take on the Super Bowl XLVIII runner-up Broncos in the third week. And the team finishes out the preseason with a home game against the San Francisco 49ers.

Houston will open the preseason at Arizona for the second time in franchise history. Houston posted a 33-20 win in their only other preseason visit to Glendale in 2007.

Atlanta and Houston will meet for the first time ever in the preseason.

The Texans and Broncos will square off against one another in the preseason for the first time since 2008. Denver has claimed four of the five previous preseason matchups.

Houston has won both of its preseason games with San Francisco: 30-7 on the road in 2011 and 20-9 at home in 2012.

The exact dates and times for the games will be released at a later date.
