OMAHA, Nebraska – She came in as the top-seeded favorite, and a little more than 2 minutes and 6 seconds later, Cy Woods graduate Cammile Adams is an Olympian, again.

"I'm really excited about that race. Would've liked to have been a little bit faster, but after the last 24 to 48 hours, I'm really happy with that swim and to be going back," Adams said.

The road to Rio didn't come without a scary moment. Adams had a disqualification scare during the prelims that was ultimately overturned after being checked out by the judges.

"We learn so many things about how to overcome obstacles, and obviously yesterday morning was an obstacle I didn't have to overcome, but I did and I have a great support staff behind me that taught me how to get over that. So I've learned a lot this week about myself," Adams said.

This will be her second straight Olympic appearance; she was at the games in London, where she finished 5th.

With each trip to the games, she gains more experience and hopefully this time she'll end up with a gold-medal outcome.

"I'm extremely confident, you know. This is the biggest hurdle, the trials, so Rio is going to be so much fun. I can't wait to wear the red, white and blue again," said Adams.
