HOUSTON – The seventh day of Texans training camp at NRG Park happened Saturday, and it was another hot day for the guys on the practice field.

One of the top highlights came late in the workout when quarterback Brock Osweiler connected over the middle on a crossing route to his top receiver DeAndre Hopkins, who went for a  touchdown. That play drew a big reaction from the Texans fans filling the stands.

Also, linebacker Brian Cushing spoke with the media for the first time since training camp opened. Cushing has had a great camp, and it's key that he stays healthy in 2016 after playing all 16 games in the 2015 season.

"He's healthy and has been working hard," head coach Bill O'Brien said after practice. "(He) did a great job adapting to our off-season workouts. He is the heart and soul for us on defense, and he is also our signal caller."

"I am feeling really good," Cushing said. "(I'm) putting in the work. I like being the leader out there, and I want guys to look to me and ask questions."

The Texans continue camp workouts on Sunday and during the course of the week, before leaving for San Francisco on Thursday.

Next Friday, they workout against the 49ers and then play the 49ers in the preseason opener on Sunday.
