Fans flock to GRB for final day of NCAA FInal Four Fan Fest

HOUSTON – It may be the final day of the Final Four Fan Fest on a Monday but inside the walls at the George R. Brown Convention Center, "fun," doesn't know what day of the week it is.

Houston Rockets legends Kenny "The Jet" Smith and Calvin Murphy met with fans to sign autographs.

Some fans, like David Donnelly a Carolina fan from Florida, took a chance buying his Final Four tickets.

"We waited until one minute left of the Elite 8 and at that point in time we went and booked our trip for out flight and our hotel," said Donnelly.

We all have our reasons for the teams we live or die for and our own stories to back it up.

"My dad actually went to Villanova and he graduated in 1985 so it's pretty surreal that like he was a senior and I'm a senior now and we're all just like huge Villanova fans," said Amanda Murphy, a senior at Villanova.

Murphy and two of her other fellow Wildcats we're going to stay in Houston until Monday no matter what.

"We're missing classes today and tomorrow," said Rachel Pitek, a Villanova senior.

But of all the stories, one might make you say "wait a minute."

Brian Wubbe is a Tarheel and Monica Wubbe is a Wildcat and they say they're marriage is working out just fine.

"I'm cheering for my team that's all I know," said Monica Wubbe.

"And I'm cheering for my team but I have a soft spot for Villanova and regardless it's a win-win," said Brian Wubbe.

The championship game tips off at 8:19 p.m. at NRG.
