Weekend things

I am surprised that, for some reason, the daily newspaper and other vital instruments don't list the exhibition season standings. Who among us doesn't root for some team to win or at least look decent in the Grapefruit and Cactus Leagues?

I also notice the Cubs and Astros are winning about the same in the pretend games and that is good for their World Series matchup this coming fall.

The Yankees have the best record in the Cactus League and that spells doom for them. It is a bigger chore trying to figure out which teams are or are not in Cactus League. Those rascals in Arizona have stolen quite a few teams.

After not filling out a bracket for the first time in 30 or 40 years I find the NCAA'S much more exciting. No one at our house cried when Louisville lost to Michigan but I am sorry Rick Pitino is on vacation. He is fun to root against. How about the studio crews? Clark Kellogg is tiresome. Kenny Smith is the best and Charles is the Chuckster. Greg Gumble is still wearing the same hat he has worn for years. I like Bill Raftery but am convinced some time years ago his family name was Rafferty and then one of his crazy uncles misspelled it.

Jim Nantz and Verne the Lundquist both tear up when reading the Masters promos. Kevin Harlan is very excited. I bet he shouts out the floor number on his hotel elevator. Of course, all of this pales compared to my oldest grandson going 4 for 4 in his opening Little League game. Go 5 Star Automotive.
