Daily Craig: It's over again

HOUSTON – The ASTROS and most other baseball teams have finished their season. They didn't win as many as they did one year ago. They didn't get into the playoffs and won't win the World Series. There are a number of reason for this.

I like to think not winning enough was THE BIG REASON.  Clearly, one of these years it would be a great idea to not lose almost every time they play the RANGERS. Winning in April is another idea. Despite every player telling us it's "EARLY" in April wins and losses count.  You don't get extra credit for winning in September if you were in the dumper in May.  Sorry for this realistic and simplistic answer. Getting rid of Jason Castro might help, but that is a no brainer. I hate to single him out but he hasn't done much of anything since 2013. At least Evan hit a bunch of homers and finally trimmed his beard.

Bill O'Brien's team won and they are alive after one quarter of the way through the NF-HELL'S season. It's a good thing Bill let Will Fuller return punts. I don't think avoiding Deandre Hopkins is a good idea. Funny how the absence of J.J. didn't seem to have anything to do with the final result. Football is strange that way. One guy may stand out but that one guy isn't missed if the other people do their jobs. Next up is a trip to Minnesota , home of non stop golf.

I haven't checked this morning, but I am hoping the RYDER CUP is over. NBC gave us more hours of golf than most countries would allow. I am happy to report it did take away from the PRESIDENTIAL CAMPAIGN and that is a very good idea. I once said the winners EACH GET one of those big YELLOW RENTAL TRUCKS. Several asked what I MEANT BY THAT. I had to unfriend them.
